Do you ever have those days where you just want to pack it all in and stop feeling so stressed, stop worrying about whether you have enough people on your email list, whether your website is perfect enough yet or whether you'll ever make a substantial amount of money?

I get like that sometimes and the good news is that when I feel like that I'm usually on the edge of something amazing. Every time I feel like that it's because I'm out of my comfort zone and I'm moving on and up. It's something that I need to push on through, even if that's slowly.

Because what's the alternative?

To a get a job.

And I don't know about you, but I didn't put in all the work I've done up to now, just to throw it away and go back to working for someone else. Sure it's safer, yes it's more routine, there are no highs or lows etc.

But I'm along for the ride, not just the results.

When I hit a hard patch in my business, whatever it may be, I know that getting through it is my only option. I don't want a job. I want to keep doing what I'm doing because I love it. And I know that when I get through something, I'm in a better place to teach and guide my clients through it as well.

So what do I do to stop feeling overwhelmed and get it together again? Whatever I need to.

Sometimes that's eating junk food and lazing in front of the TV, sometimes it's a mini spa day and a good book, sometimes it's accepting that things aren't going how I wanted them to and adjusting my plan. Sometimes I have to let things go and sometimes I have to do something I really don't want to but will feel better for once I've done it.

My point is that you have to listen to yourself. When you feel overwhelmed and stressed out, it's your body's way of telling you something is wrong. It’s up to you to decide what to do about it, but don't give up on your dream over a temporary hiccup. Everything new can be scary and uncomfortable, but once you've done it for a while it's not so bad.

What do you do when you're overwhelmed?
